Bridle Oaks Wedding Venue | Deland, FL

Searching for the right location to have that country or rustic wedding? The Bridle Oaks Wedding Venue, located in Deland, may be the perfect location for this wedding style. With five acres, two barns and an outdoor altar, this wedding venue is very versatile and unique. Not to mention, they even have dwarf goats, horses and even some chickens running around! How cool is that?! I love the friendliness of the owners and all the helping hands that assist the bride and groom to make sure they have the most perfect day! They can serve up to 150 guests and they even provide tables and chairs at no additional cost, which is a big plus. The reception can be held outside of one their barns, inside their open air barns and a separate reception barn. If you are interested in the venue, they do tours Monday-Saturday. Crystal Ballroom Wedding

Ivory + Bj had a beautiful Crystal Ballroom Wedding in Daytona Beach, Florida. Their ceremony was held right after sunset, which made for a lovely backdrop over the river. The celebration continued to a fun filled ceremony with lots of laughter and fun. They kicked their night off with a few fun dances, choreographed to perfection. All of the details were planned perfectly from their vibrant colors to the beautiful cake. In my opinion, October, November and December are the best times of the year to get married. The hurricane season is ending and the weather is (somewhat) cooling down, as good as it gets in Florida, at least. Fall weddings are always so fun with the autumn style details and awesome colors. Of course I love photographing weddings year round but fall weddings always have a cool feelings to them. This wedding brought me to my last wedding of 2016 and I am excited to see what 2017 brings me! Congrats to Ivory + Bj!! It was a blast.

I haven’t spent much time exploring Pennsylvania but after learning that Mickey works building bridges, I wanted to know more. There’s more than 25,000 bridges in PA, and knowing when I’m up there in August that I might just be driving across one that he worked on is pretty cool. Becky and Mickey came all the way from Pennsylvania to have their beautiful Central Florida Destination Wedding at the Estate on the Halifax, so planning their wedding was primarily done through phone and email conversations! They were married outside on the lawn and had bright and fun summer colors which consisted of blues and corals. After their ceremony, we walked around the Estate, and ultimately we took to the covered bridge at the estate to make a few photos on. Becky and Mickey also made donations to the American Heart Association, Leukemia and Lymphoma Society, and the American Foundation for Suicide Prevention, in lieu of wedding favors. The bride and groom had an awesome time with their guests dancing the night away, followed by a fun glow stick exit, and some awesome night shots. Mickey has some tattoos of the solar system/universe, so for their night shot, I had to knock the socks off by making the shot facing South, capturing Mars, Jupiter, and other well known celestial objects. This was such a fun wedding to work on, we love seeing such cute and unique details that make a couples day so special! This is a new way to shoot a grand exit here and we see more sparkler exits than glow sticks. They don’t emit as much light so I decided to do a long exposure of the guests throwing the glow sticks in the air. It turned out pretty neat, and we hope you think so too!

Let me tell you a story about fun…this wedding at Basilica of St. Paul! While I was finished about an hour earlier than the reception was scheduled to be over, it did have me hammering out some dancing and partying before I had to leave. I was actually reluctant to ask Brooke and Chris to walk outside for just a few minutes to capture the first image of this blog. When I did and I showed them the photo I was a bit relieved. The wedding guests probably didn’t even realize that they had left since we were gone for a total of about 7 minutes. These two knocked this night shot out of the park. I watched two celestial objects, Mars and the Moon, rising together over the ocean and wanted to put both of them on top of one of the condos across the way and bring out 800 mm of shooting power to silhouette them in the blue moon. I would have been famous for a minute on the internet but realistically also not possible without crashing the party with their absence for 30-40 minutes. Being in a photographers head will have you all over the place hunting for creativity. Back to the fun of this wedding; everyone and I mean everyone was so excited, having fun and it almost didn’t seem like a wedding day with no “stressful” moments. It ended up being one of the most beautiful days for May for them, however you know how I roll with rain and whatnot, not a big deal. LETS GO!

St Paul’s is one of the largest churches in the area and lovely too. So if you’re in need of a beautiful Cathedral wedding in Daytona Beach, this is the place. I was so happy to be back at Oceanside Country Club again. Working there is always fun and the DJ worked it hard for the time that I had left to get some dancing and fun photos. When I met Amanda + Matt, they were so kind and sweet, and I really saw such an expression of love between them. It wasn’t until I went to their home to do their engagement session that I realized how I was glad they were rubbing off on me! Their engagement session inspired me to make a little home cooked pizza with Lindsay! So if you are not friends with this couple and are coming here, I hope their story rubs off on you! For those who are you know how sweet they are and it made it so easy to tell their story. On the wedding day Amanda was soooo excited to get read, she asked a few times what time it was anticipating getting in her dress. When she was all set and done you could tell she was ready to be married! Matt, he showed the same excitement for meeting his fiance for the last time today! Enjoy the photos!
