Sunflowers in the Garden | Adrienne + Trever

With greenery being symbolic of new beginnings, the color palette Adrienne + Trever chose was the right choice for their new year wedding. Sunflowers in the garden and green tones complimented the Estate on the Halifax perfectly. The weather, also, could not have been more perfect for their wedding day. The sun was shining, the temperature was just right and the rain stayed away! Congratulations to Adrienne + Trever who had a beautiful wedding at the Estate on the Halifax this week!! After a short and sweet ceremony in the Chapel, we had a blast exploring the riverside and gardens with the bridal party for some fun portraits! The celebrations continued in the Tavern with fun dances and a delicious meal catered by Aunt Catfish. After a fun reception, family and friends sent the newlyweds off with a grand sparkler exit. Wow! Need some wedding inspiration? Started the year off right with one beautiful wedding! The Estate on the Halifax’s location is clearly given by its name. The river that runs between the “barrier island” of Ponce Inlet and Daytona Beach Shores is called the Halifax River. The Estate located in Port Orange right in Central Florida is nested on the western bank and offered a beautiful view for Sara + Troy’s wedding. They decided to have a riverfront ceremony and it turned out amazing! With there being so many locations; The oak tree, gazebo, chapel and even the peninsula (for small weddings) that overlooks the lake, it sometimes is hard to figure out where to have the ceremony. The weather was perfect, a little cold but the sun-kissed some warmth back into you as their ceremony proceeded. It was a flawless day, photographically speaking, beautiful bridal party with a sense of fun and adventure. I can tell you I was super excited after meeting Sara + Troy on their Engagement session, doing some urban exploring that their wedding was going to be a blast. For a Monday, they kept me on my toes, and there were easily 100 people there until the end! High five to your guests for rocking it out all night! Enjoy the preview! Fort McCoy Lakeside Engagement

Fort McCoy lakeside engagement: I headed over to Fort McCoy for a lakeside engagement Alyssa and Brandon had their lakeside engagement session at their house in the Ocala area. I started off inside and loved their vintage look! It definitely brought a warm and homey feeling to this particular session. We dared to adventure outside, even in the cold. This was also the first full day of shooting with the new Nikon D850! I wasn’t unfamiliar with the controls but was missing my extra grip as I had on the d4 and Nikon D5 cameras. The dynamic range of the camera was great. The best part of the camera is the shooting speed was clearly fast enough to trail Alyssa and lock focus on her ring while she was walking. The huge size of the files work great for cropping. Check out my review here. I can’t wait to share more images with you all. One of my favorite elements of this photoshoot is the warmth of the sunset that came through the trees, the dock, and even a private white sand beach behind their lakehouse. The sun was amazing in adding some warmth and shedding some light on the dock just screams awesome!

It really has everything with getting to know the couple I am working with. I generally photograph about 15 engagement sessions without a wedding attached to it. But out of the 45 weddings, we had this year all of those had an engagement session. Every time the experience seems to be so much better! Couples have a better understanding of what to expect and the day goes smoother for the wedding day.

Leu Gardens Engagement | Jessica + Brandon

With warm Florida sun and light on the mind, let’s talk about Jessica + Brandon’s Leu Gardens Engagement Session! This energetic couple decided on a gorgeous and fun place to take their engagement photos! Harry P. Leu Gardens is a fun and beautiful place to explore in Orlando. This park has many trails, luscious gardens, huge oak trees and many other beautiful landscapes that make up a perfect place to take engagement photos. The weather worked out perfect, giving us gorgeous light peeking through. Jessica and Brandon were great throughout their whole photo shoot! Most people are camera shy but they didn’t have a problem! Just look at their natural and inviting smiles!

Early December, I had the pleasure of getting to know Megan + Andrew during a romantic backyard engagement session. The warm colors and the light we had that evening was perfect for this session. Although winter had not hit Florida yet, they were in the winter mindset with the campfire and cute and comfy outfits they wore. The warm Central Florida light mixed with the string lights worked out amazing for an engagement session. This engagement photo location is different than anything else you can find in the Daytona Beach areas and that is why I love doing sessions here!
