Erin + JC’s Modernly Elegant Wedding | Lake Mary Events Center
Erin and JC were married at the Lake Mary Events Center on March 30th 2013. When asked about finding her venue, Erin states. “We wanted a venue that gave us the ability to have indoor and outdoor ceremony options. When we saw the LMEC we were in awe of the view from the rotunda. We knew our guest would love it as much as we did. The weather turned out to be a perfect day so our guest loved having cocktail hour out by the lake!” While planning her wedding, Erin’s biggest challenge was having enough time! “We had over a year to plan our wedding, but about one week after JC proposed to me I was accepted into a one-year Accelerated Nursing degree program. My time was consumed with studying, so it was a good thing we had more than a year to plan, but I felt like I had to make quick decisions. I tried to make it to most of the vendor consultations, but when I couldn’t Jc, my mom and dad, and his mom would go and check them out. They were a big help!” When thinking back to the big day Erin recalls, “It was a gorgeous day outside and I couldn’t have been happier. When I saw Jc at the end of the aisle, I was filled with so much happiness that I was finally marrying the man of my dreams that I had loved since High School!” We hope you enjoy looking back on Erin and JC’s wedding with with us –
Florials provided by Milk & Honey: Peonies, Garden roses, veronica, football mums, hydrangeas, baby’s breath, dusty miller, brunia berries
Erin’s inspiration for her wedding colors and theme were soft romantic colors. She says, “We chose the colors based on my dress and colors that coordinated with it. We also wanted to tie in our love of the water, so we incorporated that into our centerpieces and table numbers.”
.
Erin’s favorite moment: “Turning the corner and looking into Jc’s eyes. He just looked so handsome and happy. I knew that we were both so excited to hold each others hands.”
Words of Wisdom for future brides?
Erin says, “Make choices for only your fiance and yourself. Don’t worry about anybody else. That is something I wish we had in mind. Especially during photography. I wish we had an extra 30-60 minutes of photography and take that time away from dancing. Nobody would’ve cared and we could’ have had more amazing photographs taken!”
Erin and JC displayed their grandparents wedding pictures to honor them for being great role models for married people.
The Monkey Fist Knot table number holders were DIY elements that JC’s mom made! These pieces represented Erin and JC’s love of the ocean.
Erin and JC had three different centerpieces: High and low candle centerpieces floating in water and votives. Tulips and votive candles and The bridesmaids bouquets with votive candles and black mini lanterns
Specialty Bar: Flambéed Rum-Glazed Doughnut Bar with espresso icecream
Most Comical Moment? “The dance off between the little kids and the adults. Both groups were so “serious”. It was fun!”
For their exit, Erin recalls, “Guests were escorted outside and lined up with sparklers for the bride and grooms grand exit! We drove away with a flamingo attached to the antenna and fish fillets hanging off of our car!”
