There’s nothing more rewarding than doing something in life that you love and getting paid for it too! Is HoneyBook for photographers? No! It is for any and all who decide it is time to accept payments online. However, payments are just the beginning. It allows you so much more than that; from contractual agreements, contact forms, automation with workflow, an essential virtual manager for your business. The depth of its functionality is very powerful, without being overwhelming. None of us want a brand new thing to learn, we have enough with our lives right now. In fact, I have actually reduced a lot of time for myself and my wife since using this platform. Did I mention there is an app? Yes! Not only do I get to reply to messages, send pricing, templates, and files from the computer, I can easily do this on the go as well! I’m excited to share this and my experience with you.

When my wife, Lindsay (Lindsay Rachael Events), first approached me with HoneyBook, I shrugged it off, coming up with every skeptical excuse under the sun. I asked her what’s the big deal. She told me it’s pretty, it’s easy and experiencing it as a client she was excited that everything was compartmentalized in her dashboard where she could access information easy about her client’s wedding. I looked at it for about 10 minutes and learned about the processing, bank transfers, and templates. I was sold! Being, the CFO, CEO, Marketer, and every other hat I can wear for my business just like you, I had to take a look at the benefits vs. the cost. I paid over $4500 in fees with Square payments, for nothing. Well, a payment portal and a few card readers. But they do not have the customers, clients, and community as HoneyBook does. That’s just the icing on the cake if you will. Here are my favorite features and brief usage.

Features

  • Contact form: Here’s mine -> Contact Form (seamlessly integrates into your websites)
  • Automatic pretty replies: My initial email alerts them my hours and to nudge me if I’m taking too long  (customizable and personable messages to your inquiring couples)
  • Automatic Stages: Seriously automated!  (never forget to reply or follow up with someone. Life is busy, it happens, HB helps!)
  • Statistics: Payments, analytics and reports! (Who, what, when, where, and why, and even late payments)
  • Templates: When you currently grab an old email and copy and paste, you’ll no longer need that. (create custom commonly sent emails such as pricing, questionnaires, etc)
  • Payments: Here’s my card. 3%, 2.8% for enterprise customers. Oh wait, don’t forget about 1.5% bank transfers to your account (open a new payment opportunity)
  • iPhone App: Mobile access to what you need from the computer on the go. Daniel’s team did it, and very well at that! I was able to provide some input, they listened.
  • Community: A great friendly group of HB friends and fam on Facebook. Everyone is amazing and helps when you need it.
  • Automatic Invoicing: No explanation given. You can even set up payment plans for clients coming in. (Lindsay’s favorite feature)

Keeps getting better

Hey there my name is Mark Dickinson, I’m a photographer in Daytona Beach. I’ve been photographing weddings and events since 1999 and it has been a long time coming—there’s a lot of change that has happened over the past 15 to 16 years. The awesome thing about it is it keeps getting better, not only for you as a business person, but for the clients too—things get easier, things get more understanding, and that’s one of the great things that I’ve discovered just recently.

How I recovered $14,000 worth of bookings

Now, I have a YouTube video out there that shows how I recovered $14,000 worth of wedding bookings. Just give you the math on that: I charge $3,500 per wedding, and I do that times four weddings. We’re right there on that $14,000 range. The reason why I was able to secure those weddings is that HoneyBook allows me to do follow ups and do checkups on our clients with an automated process sending a template really quickly.  You’re going to be able to get faster bookings, get better bookings, and your clients are going to love you for it because it was easy for them: it wasn’t difficult, there was no snail mail back and forth.

“You’re going to be able to get faster bookings, get better bookings, and your clients are going to love you”

More bookings and secured more happy clients

So that’s one of the biggest things that I’ve learned over the past like 6 to 7 months is that we have secured more bookings and secured more happy clients due to HoneyBook. I’m all about being happy and being efficient, but at the same time I do have to look at the bottom line and make sure our business is profiting and we are not losing bookings.

HoneyBook has helped increase that by being able to follow up and give the clients a better and faster and quicker response time when they are inquiring and trying to get information. The total realism about weddings is that if you don’t respond quick they’re going to find someone else just that much quicker. So when we are doing this here as as a business, we need to find something that works fast and give still a personable response, but then at the same time get it out there quick so that these clients can say these guys are on the ball.

Time is money and money is time.

Time is money and money is time. I have a 3 year old daughter and I also have a wife so we want to be able to spend more time together as a family. We do about 40 weddings a year to 50 weddings a year. It has dropped off about 5 hours of time for myself and my wife with doing the follow-ups and contract management. We don’t have to scan anything anymore when have to do anything like that so it is effective business with time and time and money which is amazing.

You can sign up for your free trial here (you won’t be disappointed) and
get 50% off your investment. It’s well worth it and I just know you’ll notice
the difference in your process.

So thank you again very much for watching I hope you guys appreciate it, and again get out there make more money and let’s do this!
